Mr. Jan Metsovitis has been appointed CEO of the New International Airport of Heraklion Crete (IAHC). With extensive experience in the aviation field in Greece and abroad, Mr. Metsovitis started his aviation career as an aircraft operator and flight instructor. He subsequently assumed senior management roles in the airport sector.
In particular, he joined the management team of the International Airport of Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” from the very beginning of the company’s operations, and subsequently joined the management team of Hamad International Airport and was appointed to lead the operations of Qatar’s airports with a particular emphasis on maintaining high quality operations and passenger experience in a dynamic and changing environment, as Senior Vice President of Operations.
Prior to assuming the position of CEO of the New International Airport of Heraklion Crete (IAHC), Mr. Metsovitis led the team that prepared and developed the International Airports of Doha, Qatar (Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport), which welcomed the vast majority of visitors during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
