Heraklion International Airport participated in the Workshop “Growing Sustainably Together: Where the travel retail stakeholders stand regarding sustainability engagement” organized by ETRC (European Travel Retail Confederation) and its Hellenic Chapter HTTC (Hellenic Travel Trade Confederation). The workshop was hosted in Athens International Airport.

Welcome notes were addressed by Mr George Kallimasias, Chief Strategy Officer of Athens International Airport, Mrs Sofia Zacharaki, Deputy Minister of Tourism, the Hellenic Travel Trade Confederation and the Greek Tourism Confederation. A panel discussion followed.

As sustainability is one of the new Heraklion International Airport corporate pillars, our representatives, Mr Theodoros Sbiliris, Dpt Chief Development Officer and Mrs Loukia Kotsimpou, Director of Property and Consumers had the chance to discuss and exchange thoughts on sustainability actions and challenges in the modern, post pandemic retail era in the Airport Ecosystems together with experts from ETRC, INSETE, Heinemman, Aeroporti di Roma, Fraport Greece, Athens Airport, Hellenic Duty Free and Hellenic Travel Trade Confederation. Such initiatives are more than welcome, pointing towards the future of travel retail.
